Well I stumbled upon an interesting blog, I Think Therefore I blog, and it inspired the title of this post. I’ve been a
member of the blogosphere (as this world of blogs is so commonly referred) since sometime around summer of 2008. Of course, writing has always enticed me (fiction that is), and I never seemed to bat an eye at non-fiction when I was younger; it was boring, it was dry and it was too full of opinion for my young mind to take hold. As I grew older I grew closer to the art of non-fiction works and that is where I find blogging so appealing. On the Internet, anyone can voice their opinion, their work and anything they wish to share with the entire world. Isn’t that amazing?
Essentially, this big cyber world of blogs is not an electric book or collection of pages. Instead, it is a series of open conversations allowing Joe the Mailman to blog about his day to day run-ins with the neighbor’s dogs; Jessica, the teacher’s pet to link to his post and Justin, a game designer, to comment on both and the three to engage.

I think writers engage this universal exchange of ideas in a different light; each of us toying with our own ideas of promotion, social involvement, entertainment and gathering an audience. This blog, The Gray Pen, is a virtual journal of my journey to literary success. I’ve had my first short story published “Cycles“ , and of course, now I’m looking to spread more of my work. This little piece of the blogosphere is my white light in an ocean of others.

Woo. Well hello world I am alive and well, and now that school is drawing to a close within three days I will be taking this literary game by storm. The past couple weeks haven’t been done without merit; prom, a weekend away at the shore, and a plethora of missing homework that finally has found a home! I’m back to The Gray Pen and talking to all of you lovely people out there, both readers and writers.
I graduate from high school on Wednesday the 15th, but that is not the big deal; my first short story “Cycles” will appear in the Absent Willow Review the following day! “Cycles” is a horror tale based in The Great Apple and focusing on the urban life of a vampire. I’ll be posting a snippet on the blog with a link to the website for all to read. While I’ve been away I’ve been honing the plots on a group of stories that will be sent out shortly.
Tonight I’ll be posting a new poem, and though I won’t be posting poetry daily like I was back in Napowrimo, I’ll be sharing one or two a week.

Well this is my return from my little vacation; can’t wait to speak to all of you again!
Well the night has gone and the wee hours of morning are now whizzing in. The new website layout is here. I believe this new format will make the content more easily accessible and enjoyable all readers. Over the next several days I will be hosting a contest, increased quantity of content and three new stories. These three stories are some short pieces that I have been shopping markets for, but now I want to share them with all of you lovely people.

National Poetry Writing Month has come to close leaving me in the dust by ten :/

Blah, but oh well I tried, I came, and I conquered. No not really, but I did renew my interest in poetry, but now the new ‘contest for writers abound is here. Story a Day May has begun with an amazing rush of activity from writers of all sorts. I was lucky enough to have taken a workshop course before the month had started.
So I’ll keep this post short and snappy. The point of this month is to write a new short story every single day, so 31 days of May; 31 stories or May. Writers may share these stories on their own blogs, or on the website itself. I will be posting a new short story weekly, each and every Saturday.
