Poem #15-Growing Up

Well the posts have been slightly delayed but not without any good reason 😉 new domain name, site layout, and awesomeness coming in the next two weeks. Also, a major launch to be discussed with my new series Murders and the City. Hope you enjoy this little poem, two new posts tomorrow and a poem to catch up!

She looks at me through emerald eyes,
and blows me kisses all the time.
When we’re laying in my bed,
sometimes I can’t quite recall the things she said
cause we’re always talking day to day
ya know she loves it that way.
Says her can’t understand,
wonders why we all can’t play in the sand?
We’re getting older; the warmth’s getting colder
figurin’ we’ll make it to Boulder, if not L.A.

I catch her tears before they hit her lashes
we swim in the covers, catching the flashes
from the headlights which peak through my shades,
If it sparkles does it have to fade?
Oh well that’s what some rock-star said
but that scene’s been long since dead
so I’ll sit here shaking in the breeze,
we got scuffs on both of our knees
cause were growing up, time to accept it.
